too fluffy, week one: intro

Here we go, ladies. Whether you're participating in this round of alittletoofluffy, or you're just following along, I'm glad you're here. This is our first week of six, working towards getting healthy and dropping some fluff.

I think most of us are fairly disheartened when we step on the scale. We can feel bad about ourselves; guilt, shame, insecurities all bubble to the surface. Here's the thing: say no to that. That's not why we're here. I wrestled with all of that in a major way after this last pregnancy. I hated getting dressed, I felt bad about every carb I ate, I didn't like pictures of myself. And then I'd get mad at myself for feeling like that. It was and is a dumb cycle.

I am not happy with where I'm at, but I also am not going to wallow in it. My worth is not found in the number on the tag in my jeans. Neither is yours. The bottom line is, I want to get healthy and feel good and have energy. And yeah, I'd like to get rid of the baby weight. But one of the reasons I am excited to do this with an amazing group of women is because I want to encourage each other, cheer each other on, love on each other. I want us to be accountable to being healthy and having fun and making better choices. For the days when you feel down or like you can't do it, tell someone. Ask for help. Ask for a pep talk or a hug or a piece of chocolate.  (Because ain't nobody giving up chocolate around here. I eat it for the antioxidants.)

You can do this. We can do this together.

We posted an intro yesterday on instagram - but if you weren't able to join in, or you'd rather share some of your story here, please do! Leave a comment telling us who you are and what you're excited about, scared of, why you're doing this. We're cheering you on!

  1. Such great advice! I am also trying to "say no to" all the insecurities and frustrations that arise when it comes to losing the weight from my pregnancy. After having two babies in less than two years I have a lot to lose and a struggle with balancing my desire to be healthy and be my best with the guilt and unrealistic expectations. If there is one thing I have learned since becoming a mother it is that it is all about BALANCE. I am so excited to meet new friends and to have the motivation and accountability!
