a new kind of link up

Today marks the beginning of Advent, a season of expectant hope,
of anticipation, as we await the birth of a Savior.
Advent is a time to quiet ourselves, to ready our hearts for the celebration that is just a few weeks away.
It's a challenge for me to keep myself still long enough to ready myself for anything,
but it's my heart's desire to do it. To find the time to be still, to anticipate, to wait.
And so I'm challenging myself this year, and you too, if you'll join me, to
In the midst of the flurry of activity surrounding Christmas, the endless opportunities to do all the things, the decorating, the eating, the to do lists, the shopping, the festivities - to find time to slow down, find a quiet place, still our hearts for a bit and allow ourselves to long for the coming of a newborn King.

I'd love to hear what that looks like for you, how you're encouraged by it, in what ways your heart might be awakened during this season. So, each Sunday I'll write my own post with a link up. You can add your post anytime throughout the week, and visit others, sharing in their trek through this most amazing time of year. Whether it's through Scripture, a devotional, journaling, doodling, praying, singing, or sitting in silence, I am eager for change in my own heart.
I hope you'll join me!

If you're looking for something to follow along with,YouVersion has six different devotionals you can use right on your computer, plus a few more if you use the app.

My friend Heather wrote an advent devotional that you can print for yourself, and is on sale for only 99 cents!

And I love this free printable with 30 ways to slow down during Advent.
What are your hopes for the coming weeks?
