cranberry white chocolate rice krispie treats

I am a major sucker for rice krispie treats. Like, whoa.
I don't make them much because I could seriously eat the entire pan by myself.
Last week at the fundraiser luncheon, they served all kinds of little bite sized sweets,
including cranberry rice krispie treats. Well, that was just genius.

I recreated them this week for my small group, with the addition of white chocolate.
And now I am sharing them with you because they are an easy, festive little dessert that you could share with your neighbors over Christmas, leave out for Santa,
or sit in the kitchen and devour in one sitting. No judgement.

see what I did with the wording there?
Now I'm sure you know how to make rice krispie treats. If you don't, I truly am sorry for all you've been missing in life. Sure, you can buy them prepackaged at the grocery store, but they are not the same, people. Not even a little.

What you need:
5 tablespoons butter
6 cups mini marshmallows
7 cups Rice Krispies (whatever brand, doesn't matter)
1 cup dried cranberries
1 cup white chocolate chips

Roughly chop the cranberries and chocolate chips and mix them in a big bowl with the cereal. Set aside.
Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium low heat and add in marshmallows. Stir constantly and remove from heat once all the marshmallows have nearly melted.
Add in cereal mixture and stir until everything is evenly coated in marshmallow buttery goodness. Press into a 9x13 pan and let cool and set for about an hour.
Cut into squares or triangles and serve. Store them in an airtight container if they aren't all gone immediately.

  1. I'm going to make these tomorrow. Seriously.

  2. seriously, YUM. Must make these for...some reason, I know I will find one :)
