biggest loser, week one: tips and a recipe.

This Friday kicked off our first week of the Biggest Loser challenge.
We have 43 ladies ready to move toward a healthier lifestyle and drop some weight.
If you want to join us, there are a few spots left. Get details here.
Let me know by tomorrow and you're in!

Every Saturday for the next six weeks, I am going to share tips, recipes, exercise plans -
and if you'd like to do the same, you'll be able to link up right here!
Use the comments section to ask questions, offer encouragement
and what has or hasn't been working for you throughout your journey.

What has worked for me in the past - and is totally free! - is
My Fitness Pal. (username carinalee if you wanna be buddies.)
You can track your activity and calories; I think they have every food under the sun.
It is great accountability and you can plug in your goals to keep you on course.
I love that you can use it on your computer, phone, tablet - whatever - and everything syncs
so you can stay on track even on the go.

Another huge part of having energy, boosting your metabolism, and
setting yourself up for success is eating breakfast.
Most mornings I grab a Balance or Luna bar and eat it on the go.
But honestly, a hot breakfast is so much more satisfying, don'tcha think?
Scrambled eggs with broccoli and green onion,
piping hot oatmeal with agave and cranberries...
or this perfect fall breakfast that I found on Eat Yourself Skinny yesterday:
apple cinnamon quinoa cereal
I am totally trying it this week!
What are your morning favorites?

Next week I am going to share a meal plan for easy, everyday meals that
even my family will eat (well, mostly).
If you want to do the same, I'd love it - and you can link it up to share!

And if you aren't officially in the BL, please still contribute - we want to encourage one another!
Have a great week, y'all. I am so happy to do this with you!

  1. That looks like a great fall breakfast!! Happy weekend! xo Heather

  2. Mmm that looks so yummy! I'm the same way with breakfast. In fact, I just went to Trader Joe's yesterday and grabbed enough Luna/Balance bars for the next two weeks. I try to make something a little nicer on Saturdays though. Good luck! I'm rooting for all of you :)

  3. I love this ap, but my phone is a few years old that it drains the battery. Instead I just count my calories on a sheet of paper & look up things on the ap. Good luck!

  4. I just found an app called calorie king that has many restaurant food information! I'll be using that, I'm sure!
