I love late summer, right before school starts.
The weather is always perfect, and everyone is soaking up the last days
filled up with free time and lazy schedules.
This weekend we decided to take a trip up the mountain in a gondola.
We tried to snap a family photo at the top, which was all shades of crazy.
The fact that our children could plummet from the sheer, steep drop off,
coupled with them not wanting to hold still or look at the camera,
made for some pretty sweet shots.
We finally got a decent photo with the whole crew.
It was a gorgeous day with great company.
We headed back down the mountain, and rested on some benches while the boys
ran crazily about, garnering stares from strangers all around.
George tried to strip down to nothing and bellowed at the top of his lungs
when I attempted putting his shirt back on.
That was our cue to leave.
We headed back home with our half naked toddler, the other two well worn out.
We got bacon cheeseburgers and root beer floats at an old drive in on the way back home.
We sang silly songs and took naps while Nick drove.
It was a very good Saturday, soaking up the last moments of summer.
It was just what we needed.
That looks like so much fun! Beautiful view!
ReplyDeleteI can apapreciate the half naked grumpy toddler more than anyone else.
ReplyDeleteOne rode with me just this morning.
Turns out, clothes and a positive attitude are sometimes over-rated.
Love your pictures!
