{thankful} friends, coffee and adoption

I ran out of coffee this week. Do I need to tell you how devastating this can be to a tired
mama with coffee filter in hand, ready to brew that first cup of the day?
I don't think I do.
But in beautiful, perfect timing, a package of love arrived on my doorstep from a new friend.
And it was filled to the brim with coffee beans.
When Ashley found out about my love for joe, she set to putting this together for me.

Ashley and I will be friends for a long, long time.
And not just because of the sweetest care package ever, but for so many more reasons.
She and her husband are in the process of adopting their first baby,
which makes my heart sing.
In the last week, I think we've emailed back and forth at least a dozen times, sharing our stories.
I am so excited for her and her husband and can't wait to see their story unfold.
She's praying for me, and I for her.

I am thankful for Ashley, and so many other adoptive mamas I've met over the last couple of years.
Abby, Hannah, Danielle and Haley to name a few.
I am grateful that our story means something to people, that so many are hoping for us
and with us, and excited about our next step.
And I am excited to journey with these sweet girls as their families grow.

Take some time to read their stories and I think you'll love them, too!

What are you thankful for this week?
Link up your stories of gratitude - big or small,
through blessings, difficult times, time with ones you love,
finished projects, a special treat... whatever makes your heart glad this week,
we want to hear about it!

  1. Aw, that was so sweet of her!

  2. That was awesome! Isn't it great how things happen that way ;) Have a great weekend!!

  3. Aww what PERFECT time :) Definitely so sweet of Ashley...what a blessing new friends are!!
Happy Thankful Thursday <3 Thanks for the great linkup, as always.
    What's your favorite coffee type?!

  4. Well, that worked out just perfectly! :)

  5. That is some amazing timing! I, too, cannot function without coffee. Since I moved back home after college, Dad makes the coffee every morning. I have no clue what I'm going to do in a few weeks when I have to get up and do it. I'm going to be like a zombie.

  6. I think that is so amazing. I love how that pkg arrived right after the tragic morning with no coffee. SO cool how details of life work out like that, because God is good and knows what we need. Not only in coffee beans does He meet our needs but in treasured friends. So great!

  7. Whoever sent you that package must totally understand your love of coffee! ;) So glad you liked it and so excited to one day be swapping pictures of our newest additions!!!

  8. Ahh can't run out of coffee!! What a great friend!! How exciting to share in the excitement of their adoption story! I hope that someday we can too! I would love to adopt! It would be absolutely amazing. There's a reason it's high up on my bucket list. Thankful this week for a combination of lazy days and busy days. It brings a good balance to life. And pancakes with sprinkles in the batter. So much fun!

  9. Thankful for you too, friend! I probably won't mail you coffee but if we ever buy a new house I will totally invite you over for a cup. :)

  10. what perfect timing! :) and thanks for linking up! <3 hope you've had a blessed weekend
