Sometimes being thankful isn't always the easiest.
There are disappointments and setbacks and things that bring our focus back to ourselves.
They give us feelings of self pity or doubt or sadness.
But the verse above tells us to be glad always. In fact, it says it twice.
It says that we should give all our requests and prayers to God
and give thanks.
I have so much to be grateful for, but this week seemed like one of setbacks.
Word from the adoption agency that it could be a very long wait
for a long list of reasons.
It's disheartening. Hard to understand.
But I know, I really do, that God has a plan.
That He has a heart for these babies that infinitely exceeds our hopes and desires.
That He loves us more than we could ever dream possible and will design our family
just as it should be, in His perfect timing.
And if I give that over to Him, especially when it's hardest to,
He will keep my heart. He will give me peace beyond what I could hope.
And He does.
For that I am thankful.
I'm thankful for so much. My health, my children's health. Warm house, full belly. So much. I love this scripture btw. Found you through the link up and I am happy to be your newest member.
ReplyDeleteCarina I seriously have had such a peace about this. I have had this strong, strong feeling of assurance that we are getting our baby, and we need not be anxious. He's got it covered :-)

ReplyDeleteI love this verse. It is always so difficult to give thanks when it seems like everything is going against you. Grateful for the reminder that everything works out in God's timing - not ours. Thanks for linking up.
ReplyDeletePraying for you, Carina. "He will keep my heart." - I love that.
ReplyDeleteStay strong and keep the faith! You are in my thoughts and prayers.

So thankful today, and thankful for this post. I'm sorry about the wait.. God has a magnificant plan for your family.
ReplyDeletewell said.He does have a perfect plan for you. believe it.
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for you and your family. I know that He will make sure that your family grows at exactly the time it is meant to!
ReplyDeleteFor sure, we just don't always see it right away. Our timing is so so vastly different than our Lords, but eventually with time, we DO end up seeing why etc...we will look back and remember that He is refining us and building our character in ALL things in life. James 1:2-5 is my LIFE verse!
