One day last week Lute was in our bedroom and asked if he could take a framed photo sitting on Nick's dresser and put it in his room. It is one of Nick and I sitting on a balcony in Costa Rica on our honeymoon.
I thought it was sweet, so I said yes.
Then last night as we were getting all the boys ready for bed and Lute was alone in his room getting his jammies on, I looked in to check on him.
He didn't see me, and I saw him holding the frame and staring at it for several seconds.
He looked up and caught me watching him and a huge grin spread across his face.
"I just love you guys, Mama."
And then I dissolved into a pool of mushy goo on the floor as my heart welled
with love and affection for my sweet boy.
That kid's a keeper.

Oh my goodness, those bangs look SO GOOD on you. Like, really, REALLY good. They frame your face so well, and they just look great. Okay now that that's done, I can move on.
ReplyDeleteThat is probably the sweetest thing I have heard all day. What a cutie!

Cherish that moment! I can vividly remember such moments when love is expressed in our home. On the other hand I have to laugh when my son gets mad at me and he goes to rip any picture of me he can get a hold of. He knows they mean a lot to me so he goes for what I care deeply...little stinker :)
ReplyDeletethat is a keeper. what a precious little story, so glad you shared!
ReplyDeletehe is a keeper! you both are so cute. :)
ReplyDeletep.s. my sister's husband bought her a bracelet from your shop - and loves it! she showed it off to me over christmas break and it was so fun to see your work up close! you are so talented! :)
That is so precious. The pure love and innocence of children is such a blessing - and a lesson for us too. How often to we unashamedly show our love for others like that?

ReplyDeleteThat is one of the sweetest things I've ever heard! You have a wonderful way of putting feelings into words (wish I possessed that gift). I do however, posses the gift of sarcasm. Does that count for anything?
